Most insurance companies replace lost property using the “same kind and quality” rule. If your property is valued above the “standard” rule, it is your responsibility to document your property.

Know What You Own Home Inventory helps provide that documentation in a personalized portfolio that includes:

Digital photos
of the interior of your home and room-by-room record of contents including furniture, collectibles, antiques, furs, artwork, etc.

Digital videotape
of you home’s interior/exterior including the garage, basement and utility space.

Written Inventory
of important personal property.cd binder

Multiple CD and DVD copies
of digital photos, video and written documentation.

Protective Portfolio
which contains all photos, CDs/DVDs and written documentation.

Data Storage Security and Privacy

You have complete control of your information for storage. We suggest a safe deposit box outside the home and fire proof storage inside the home. Know What You Own Home Inventory will delete your information from our files so you and you alone have access to it.

For those who prefer that Know What You Own Home Inventory keep a CD/DVD copy of their inventory in our safekeeping, we will do so for free for two years.

Seasonal Updates

Items stored out-of-season may be difficult to access depending on the season. For example, if the inventory is conducted in the summer, you may prefer not to pull out an extensive collection of holiday decorations or if in the winter, your outdoor furniture may not be on your patio or deck. For a minimal fee, we will return when items are displayed to record and photograph them.
